Barrel Selection, Roussanne, Languedoc, Domaine Sainte Rose

This expertly crafted Roussanne put Sainte Rose on the map. A hugely successful barrel fermented and aged white wine that oozes elegance. At Sainte Rose we love this Rhone Valley grape variety and have worked hard to promote its use as a single varietal.

Although it was a slightly cooler year than usual, the Roussanne grapes that produced this wine were picked during the night in order to protect it from the extreme heat of the day. The wine underwent fermentation and ageing in French oak barrels to create a complex, yet approachable and food friendly Roussanne with excellent mouthfeel and length.

Colour: Golden yellow. Nose: An exotic mix of fruit and flint, with fresh, white melon, vanilla notes and hints of spice. Palate: Richly layered with a creamy texture, toasty macadamia nut flavours and a wonderfully smooth finish. Drink: Now until 2032.
