An Italian classic. The grapes are dried on racks for two months after the harvest which concentrates sugar levels in the grapes and enables a fuller, denser wine to be produced. Amarone della Valpolicella is the most prestigious and well known wine from the Verona area and one of Italy`s most important red wines. Intense garnet red colour with an elegant, spicy and complex nose. This is a full bodied wine with a luxurious mouthfeel. On the palate there are notes of sour cherries with hints of ripe plum, cinnamon and spices. This is a beautifully structured wine with a velvety feel, very soft tannins and a gentle acidity. The finish is long, full and spicy. Fantastic companion for strong cheeses, roasted venison or pheasant.
